A DIFFERENT WAY TO EXPERIENCE PARIS

Summer is settling gently into Paris. Terraces are filling up, markets are bursting with color, and long walks are once again stretching into the evening. For this April edition of Touriste Digest, we’ve selected a few spots and outings to discover just a stone's throw from our hotels: coffee in the sun, a picnic, or an evening at the Opera. A different way to experience Paris, neighborhood by neighborhood.

‍

Coffee in the sun at Ten Belles, by the Canal Saint-Martin

Just minutes from Hôtel les Deux Gares, Ten Belles remains one of our favorite spots in the neighborhood. We go there for a perfectly brewed coffee, a still-warm brioche, and a few minutes in the sun before strolling along the Canal Saint-Martin.

An evening at the Opéra Garnier

From Hôtel Panache, the Palais Garnier is just a few stops away. Whether for a ballet, an opera, or just a visit, the venue remains one of the most beautiful settings in Paris. We love extending the evening in the area, wandering through covered passages, lively cafés, and the streets of the 9th arrondissement.

Strolling down Rue des Martyrs to assemble the perfect picnic

From Hôtel Bienvenue, head to Rue des Martyrs to fill your basket with seasonal produce: tomatoes, watermelon, warm bread, and fresh flowers. One of our favorite summer activities: putting together an impromptu picnic before heading off to spend a few hours in the sun at a Parisian park.

Picnicking at Parc Georges-Brassens

Near Hôtel Beauregard, we recommend a walk on the Île aux Cygnes before heading to Parc Georges-Brassens for a picnic in the sun. The neighborhood takes on a calmer pace in the summer, far from the tourist bustle, with its markets, quiet terraces, and wide, tree-lined paths.

Oysters and drinks at Les Deux Gares EXPRESS

At Hôtel Les Deux Gares, long August evenings often begin with a platter of oysters and a shared glass on the terrace. Between Gare du Nord and Gare de l’Est, the neighborhood transforms completely with the return of sunny days: it becomes livelier, more vibrant, and almost Mediterranean on certain evenings.
